Arnell Ignacio reacted to this statement of Vice Ganda about his home network’s franchi
It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda slammed the “trolls” accusing that Kapamilya stars’ reason for supporting Vice President Leni Robredo is the ABS-CBN franchise and comedian-host Arnell Ignacio made a correction.
To recall, during an episode of the Kapamilya noontime show, Vice addressed the critics who implied that stars of ABS-CBN are after the network’s franchise renewal.
“Wala na po kaming hinahabol na dating prangkisa dahil ang prangkisa namin ay may nagmamay-ari na at pagmamay-arian nila ‘yan ng ilang dekada,” Vice Ganda said.
Apparently, he was referring to the frequencies that the Advanced Media Broadcasting System of billionaire businessman Manny Villar acquired.
With this, in a recent YouTube vlog of Arnell Ignacio, he corrected what the It’s Showtime host said. “Vice, walang may may-ari ng franchise kasi wala naman lumabas na franchise. At yun ay libre. Ang tinutukoy mo ay yung frequency,” he said.
Arnell added that ABS-CBN can apply for franchise again and that support that they are giving to the candidate that they chose can reflect a favorable situation for them once that candidate will win.
“Next, the NTC, e, merong ina-assign na frequency para diyan sa mabibigyan ng prangkisa na mag-operate ng network. You need this frequency, ito yung channel, so you cannot go back to the previous channel that you were using before,” Arnell further explained.
The TV host also said that it would be easy for the Kapamilya network to apply for franchise again once the politician they are supporting favors the ressurection of their station.
“But then, of course, you will always keep in mind that ang prangkisa ay ina-apply sa Congress. Ang frequency ay ina-assign ng NTC. Yun ‘yon,” Arnell Ignacio added.
On the other hand, Arnell said that the right of Vice Ganda and other Kapamilya stars to support any candidate does not require a franchise.
