Jodi Sta. Maria’s Petition For Nullity Of Marriage Is Granted By The Court

Jodi Reflects On Her Thirteen-Year Annulment Process

“Finally after 13 years of waiting, my petition for nullity of marriage has been granted by the Supreme Court,” began Jodie on her Instagram caption. “It was indeed a test of faith and trust — FAITH in God’s promises and TRUST in God’s timing.”

Jodi shared a carousel post about the milestone. The first photo features a quote that says, “So I close my eyes to old ends, and open my heart to new beginnings.” The second photo shows Jodie soaking in a scenic view featuring the sea and the sun.

“The time I spent in His waiting room was never easy nor was it comfortable. It was frustrating, discouraging, and even heartbreaking. I cried, prayed, questioned and complained. I made ‘tampo,’ asked for forgiveness, prayed some more. I wanted to give up but He never let go of me.”

Jodi once talked about how she turned to partying to distract herself from her martial woes.

Her caption went on to detail how her faith helped her. “Looking back it was His grace that sustained and carried me. He had a purpose for the waiting. And that was made clear to me by the Lord.

I know some of you might be in His waiting room. May I encourage you with this? ‘When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.’ – Isaiah 60:22

God is never in a hurry. He is never too late. Never too early. Believe He is able to do something about your situation. Trust He has a plan for you and that plan is even better than the one you have for yourself.

Jodie ended her post with a shoutout to those who stood by her and her lawyer Atty. Connie Aquino.

“Before I end this already lengthy post, please allow me to thank the people who were with me on this journey. My prayer warriors you guys know who you are – salamat for standing with me in prayer  And to my lawyer and friend, @conniejaquino of Calleja Law Office for the guidance, patience, and friendship. Thank you for never giving up on my case.

Now I can finally say…CASE CLOSED.”

Jodi Sta. Maria’s “Broken Marriage”

Five years after getting married in 2005, Jodi and her husband Pampi Lacson, son of former senator Panfilo Lacson, parted ways. Together, they have one child, Panfilo Lacson III or Thirdy.

Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph) reported that the Regional Trial Court (RTC) declared their marriage “null and void” in 2014. However, the case was elevated to the Court of Appeals (CA), and by 2016 the CA reversed the ruling of the RTC.

In 2022, Jodi opened up to Karen Davila about her tough situation. She mentioned how she eventually found healing and created an understanding with her ex-husband. “Forgiveness is a choice that we can make every single day,” said Jodi.

Through the years, the public has seen snippets of Jodi’s and Pampi’s peaceful co-parenting setup. Jodi also shares a friendship with Pampi’s current partner Iwa Moto.
