The movie *Batang Quiapo* directed by and starring Coco Martin continues to be the center of discussion among audiences, but this time not because of its eye-catching action scenes or dramatic plot, but because of some scenes that are considered too bold and controversial. In particular, the scenes between Coco Martin and Miles Ocampo have made many people question the limits that the movie can reach on national television.
One of the most discussed scenes is the scene where Coco Martin and Miles Ocampo are in a tense situation. Although the content of the movie wants to show the authenticity and harshness of street life, the way it is expressed makes many people feel uncomfortable.
On social networks, many viewers expressed their indignation, thinking that this scene is somewhat excessive and not suitable for broadcasting on a popular time slot. Some have even compared it to Coco Martin’s previous action films, saying that *Batang Quiapo* is becoming more and more daring by national television standards.
“I understand that the film wants to reflect social reality, but is it necessary to make it this intense?” – one viewer commented.
This is not the first time *Batang Quiapo* has encountered controversy related to its scenes. From intense action scenes to segments reflecting the dark side of life, the film has constantly questioned the limits of what a television work can reach.
Many critics believe that *Batang Quiapo* is going in a direction that is too daring by conventional standards, especially when broadcast on a major television channel. However, there are also many who defend the film, saying that this is the most realistic way to portray the dangerous life and social conflicts that the story wants to convey.
“This is the reality of life, it’s not always rosy. It’s unfair to criticize the whole movie just because of one controversial scene,” a fan defended.
In response to the controversy, the crew of *Batang Quiapo* has yet to give an official response. Coco Martin, as the main actor and director of the movie, is known for his serious working style and always tries to bring the most realistic footage. This has helped him build his own brand in the action TV series industry.
However, the question is whether *Batang Quiapo* needs to be more restrained in the way it portrays sensitive situations? Or is this simply a true reflection of a dramatic story that the audience needs to accept?
With the appeal of the movie, the controversy will certainly continue. Will Coco Martin speak up to defend his work? Or will there be certain adjustments to appease public opinion? The audience is waiting for the answer!
Coco Martin was left out of the ‘rape scene’ with Miles Ocampo in ‘Batang Quiapo’: ‘He’s really my baby-baby’
COCO Martin was all praise for Miles Ocampo in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” because he said the girl is a really good actress.
Those who watched the pilot week of the new ABS-CBN series talked about Coco and Miles’ rape scene during the special screening held recently.
Coco admitted that she was left out while doing the sensitive scene because she had been seeing and being with Miles since she was a child.
At the grand mediacon of Coco’s new series that will be aired on February 13, the actor and director talked about Miles.
“Honestly, at first, of course, he was my baby, eh, Miles is really in the movies, he’s one of my babies that even though we don’t really see each other, when we do, it’s his mother, my classmate.
“I was honestly awkward, you feel it, you take care of it, then you rewrite the scene now. That scene was awkward,” Coco said. Of course, before filming the rape scene, Coco spoke to the actress in depth.
“Actually, I asked her, I said, ‘Miles, what do you like more, these kinds of jobs or these kinds of scenes or when you make me laugh like before?’ She said, ‘Brother, I like this kind of thing.’
“The maturity. When I saw that in her, of course I checked first because I was still wary because of course, I’m still a man, this is a woman, just so I knew the limits. Because I don’t want you to be offended, or you’ll cross the limit.
Even when I just teased her, she was game. She was so open, she took what I gave her,” Coco said.
There was a scene where Miles was undressed, so Coco immediately asked if it was okay and he replied, “Kuya, it’s okay.”
“He has such a high regard for his work. Because that’s what he looks at, eh. It’s not like ‘this is just a racket, I’m just acting.’ He, when he accepted the project, he knew that ‘I’m open to what they’ll ask me to do.’ Then he was looking for something, eh, maturity in his work,” Coco explained.
Miles was also very grateful to Coco, “We’re at that stage in our lives where you just want to grow and explore. So, thank you very much.”
