Lolit Solis once again tackled in a commentary the negative criticisms that her talent Paolo Contis has been receiving since he became an “Eat Bulaga” host.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Manay Lolit said it is unfair that Paolo is being bashed for doing a job that was offered to him

“Alam mo Salve si Paolo Contis nagtra trabaho lang. Kundi niya tinanggap ang Eat Bulaga may iba rin artista na gagawa nito. Unfair na para bang si Paolo Contis ang may kasalanan na nasa Eat Bulaga siya. Trabaho lang, walang personalan. Kung siguro meron siyang ibang ginagawa na show at hindi niya puwede gawin ang Eat Bulaga, baka hindi siya host nito. Or baka kung kinuha siya regular co host ng Eat Bulaga baka nasa programa siya. Ganuon lang naman buhay ng artista, kung ano ibigay trabaho sa kanya iyon ginagawa niya.”

The entertainment columnist and talent manager went on and lauded the actor’s hosting skills.

“Pero ako mismo natuwa na nakita na magaling pala sa hosting si Paolo. At dahil sa Eat Bulaga nakita iyon.”

She also wondered why Paolo is the only one who gains many bashings among the noontime show’s several hosts.

“Bilog ang mundo, maliit lang ang ginagalawan natin sa showbiz kaya siguro naman walang nasaktan si Paolo Contis, wala naman inagawan ng trabaho, kaya siguro nakapagtataka kung bakit meron masama ang loob sa kanya. Para bang may nagawa siyang masama at siya ang laging pinipitik sa dami ng mga stars na nasa Eat Bulaga. Ok lang sa akin basta constructive, pero parang personalan na ang pitik. Dahil kung bakit ang dami naman nila sa programa laging si Paolo Contis ang napupuna.”

Manay Lolit continued, “Ok lang dahil feeling ko hindi naman apektado si Paolo. Mataas ang paggalang niya sa Tito, Vic and Joey. Alam niya na controversial ang programa na sinalihan niya. Tanggap rin niya ang mga bashing na nangyayari.”

However, Lolit admitted to still feeling pity for her talent.

“Ako nga ang naawa dahil parang hindi naman dapat ganuon maging trato nila kay Paolo na ginagawa lang ang trabaho niya. Pero kahit ano pa sabihin nila, I still support Paolo Contis sa mga gusto niya gawin. Isa siyang mahusay na artista at mabuting tao. May mga pagkakamali pero not enough to make him a bad person.”

Furthermore, Manay Lolit penned a heartfelt message for Paolo.

“Stand tall Paolo Contis, abot kamay mo lang ang tagumpay , basta maging [patient] ka lang. Hayaan mo na ang mga pitik, gawin mong sandata iyan sa lahat ng darating na pagsubok sa buhay mo. Bongga.”

“Eat Bulaga” is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. Tape Inc.’s “Eat Bulaga” recently went back live on air on GMA with its new lineup of hosts, including Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar and Betong Sumaya.
