Vice Ganda convinced to fake death for family’s gain in ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’ official trailer
The official trailer of “And The Breadwinner Is…” is finally out! Unveiled during the film’s grand media conference on December 5, the trailer comes just weeks before the movie’s December 25 premiere, as part of the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival.
In the film, helmed by acclaimed director Jun Lana and co-produced by Star Cinema and The IdeaFirst Company, Vice Ganda stars as Bambi, an OFW breadwinner who comes home only to be hit with betrayal from the very family she’s been working so hard for. Back in October, the film’s official teaser introduced Bambi’s plight, but the newly released trailer raises the stakes up a notch.
Upon her return, Bambi discovers the shocking truth: the house she had been tirelessly funding to renovate has been secretly mortgaged by her own family.
Overwhelmed by disappointment, Bambi suffers a breakdown on a bus, only to get caught in a vehicular accident that leaves her family believing she’s dead. However, when Bambi resurfaces, her family hatches a wild plan: they beg her to continue faking her death so they can claim a life insurance payout worth ₱10 million.

The trailer then poses a question: “Paano bubuhay ng pamilya ang patay?”
“Sige na, pumapayag na ‘kong magpanggap na patay,” Bambi reluctantly agrees, with her love for her family still reigning over her.
She adds, “Gagawin ko lahat para sa pamilya ko.”
Bambi’s voice-over then delivers a powerful reminder about shared responsibility: “Sino bang nagsabi na dapat isa lang ang nagtataguyod ng pamilya? Ba’t hindi puwedeng tulong-tulong? Bakit?”
