According to Kim Chiu, second chances in romance are not for her.

She explained her side on the topic during the “Expecially For You” segment of It’s Showtime last Wednesday, February 21.

It was her co-host Vhong Navarro who asked her whether she would give a former partner another chance in making their relationship work.

“‘Didn’t you fight, then lost? But if they want to come back, will you still allow it?” he asked.

Kim answered back, saying: “I’m the one who left me […], why did you leave me, didn’t you? So no more.”

However, the actress-host made it clear that this mindset could be different for every other person.

“That’s different, besides, when you’re there, you can’t really tell,” she said. “No one can really say what your decision will be when you’re there. Today, your answer is different. Yesterday, something else. Maybe tomorrow will be different, right?”

It could be recalled that Kim was the talk of the town on social media after her co-host Vice Ganda discussed the topic of moving on from a romance weeks before.

“It’s hard when you lose a loved one, you try to move on but no matter where you go and no matter what you do, you see and feel him. Going to the mall, you want to enjoy yourself, but you feel and remember him,” Vice said.

“Everything that happens in our lives is written, it was done before we were born. So, it’s easier for you to accept all things,” Kim added.

It was last December 2023 when Kim confirmed her break-up with long-time partner Xian Lim.

On Instagram, she said the split was a mutual decision, saying they still hope that the break-up can turn their relationship into a lifelong friendship.

“It was our mutual decision to transition our relationship into what we hope to be a lifelong friendship. We thank all our followers for their love and support, but now we ask you to appreciate our honesty and give us the privacy we need as we begin new chapters of our lives,” Kim wrote.

Xian, on the other hand, wrote a heartfelt Instagram post for Kim, thanking her for the 12 years they spent together as a couple.

“We have expressed our love for each other to the fullest and knowing that I got to share those moments with you, knowing our hearts beat as one at one point in our lives is truly something I will cherish for life,” the actor wrote.

Kim and Xian started dating last 2012. It was only in 2018, however, when they made their relationship public.
