Dennis Trillo was asked about the breakup between his ‘My Husband’s Lover’ co-stars

Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo reacted to the breakup between Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana, who he worked with in a series.

In 2013, Dennis, Tom, and Carla worked together in the series My Husband’s Lover. In the said series, Carla and Tom played as a married couple while Dennis became the lover of Tom’s character.

The series was quite controversial as the Filipino audience is not yet familiar with this kind of theme back then. On the other hand, the Kapuso stars in the series were lauded for being brave in portraying their unique roles.

Apparently, because of Tom’s gay character in the series, speculations surfaced that in real life, he is also a member of the LGBTQ community. When it was confirmed that Carla and Tom are no longer together, one of the issues thrown at the actor was the allegation that he is gay.

However, in a recent interview, Tom stressed that he is not gay and that he has no other woman as well. These are just among the issues that were addressed to him when he and Carla broke up.

Based on a recent interview that Inquirer entertainment columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal did with Dennis Trillo, the actor shared his thoughts on the Tom-Carla split, since he worked with the former couple.

“I am no love expert. They’re both dear friends, so I am saddened by their split-up. May they let time heal their wounds and reach a point where they can become friends again,” the husband of Jennylyn Mercado said.

Meanwhile, Dennis shared that he and his Crisostomo Ibarra character in Maria Clara at Ibarra have something in common. They both value love for family and go out of their way to help others.

Doing this historical portal drama, the actor also realized how dark the story of Noli Me Tangere is and how advance Jose Rizal’s approach was in creating his masterpiece.
