Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, a prominent celebrity couple in the Philippines, candidly spoke about the challenges they faced while filming an intimate scene for their film “Rewind.” This film, which is among the official entries for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) this year, marks the return of the popular DongYan tandem to the big screen. The couple, who have been married since 2014, are parents to a son, Sixto, and a daughter, Zia.

In “Rewind,” Dingdong Dantes portrays John, a character grappling with regrets and lost time with his family following a tragic accident that claims his wife’s life. Marian Rivera plays Mary, his wife, whose loss leaves John and their son Austin (played by Jordan Lim) in a state of despair. The film offers John a chance to start over and rectify his past wrongdoings to his family, but this opportunity comes with a significant consequence. The cast also includes notable actors like Sue Ramirez, Joross Gamboa, Lito Pimentel, Ina Feleo, Ariel Ureta, Pamu Pomerada, Mary Joy Apostol, Via Antonio, Chamyto Aguedan, and Coney Reyes. “Rewind” is set to be released in the MMFF 2023, in cinemas nationwide starting December 25.

During an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Dingdong shared that while filming for “Rewind” was more manageable now that they are married, shooting an intimate scene posed a unique challenge. Marian expressed that performing an intimate scene was particularly difficult, especially now that they are a real-life married couple. She mentioned the complexity of portraying such scenes as a married duo, noting a shift in their approach to such scenes compared to earlier in their careers when they were not in a relationship. To address this challenge, the couple requested their director to dim the lighting for the intimate scene to make it more comfortable for them​​​​​​​​​​​​​​.
