Marian Rivera Makes Cooking Fun For Her Family

Marian Rivera is regarded as GMA’s Primetime Queen but at home, she’s her kids’ cook and makes their food fun to eat

We all know Marian Rivera as an actress, endorser, entrepreneur, wife, and mother to her kids. But if there’s one thing that the My Guardian Alien star loves to do is cook. She makes time for cooking, and her kids Zia and Sixto have a say in their eating.

Ang maganda sa mga anak ko iniinvolve ko sila sa bawat kakainin, especially pag nag-school sila,” she shared of her kids. “So involved sila and nagrerequest sila ng anong food for school.”

With her kids’ palates changing as they grow older, the challenge is how to be creative with the food on the table. “For example yung fried chicken, ano ba puwede natin gawin sa chicken na iyon? Actually, maraming puwedeng gawin like for example, puwede natin lagyan ng sauce with mushroom or corn.”

These days, the kids she observed have been leaning towards food that is savory or has sauce and likes having soup.

They’re not picky but vegetables is a must

While there are kids who get picky with eating vegetables, Marian Rivera is grateful the kids don’t mind. One thing’s for sure – she and Dingdong Dantes make sure vegetables are part of their meals.

To begin with, mahilig na sila sa vegetables. kaming mag-asawa mahilig din sa vegetables,” she said. “Kaya yung mga pagkain namin hindi puwedeng walang veggies. And everyday, yon ang required ni Dong sa amin. Kailangan talaga may veggies.”

Although her kids love veggies, they are also into desserts and Marian finds herself mixing and putting things together especially during hot days.

Yung mga fruit cocktail, nata for example.

Marian also shared that she has actually upgraded her take on kaldereta and even shared on Instagram her version of a mushroom gumbas, using milk, cheese, and parsley.

Don’t be afraid to mix things!

These days, Marian’s schedule is packed with endorsement shoots, telserye tapings, and running a household. She always emphasized the importance of time management and is grateful she has helpers to take turns attending to the kids.

So what dish would she recommend with mushrooms which has become her fave? Soup is one thing she suggested. “You can pair it with bread. Puwede din sa grilled fish or chicken. And yung sauce is mayonaise and mushroom and puwede isama sa ibang veggies. Depende talaga sa diet mo.”

She also suggested using mushrooms as rice. “ Make sure na chinop mo siya into small pieces. Puwede mo siyang substitution as rice.”

Now who says food is boring? Not for Marian Rivera who’s willing to challenge herself to cook and bring the best for her family.
