At odds with Kris Aquino? Sharon responds to rumors started by fans

Nothing, nada. There’s absolutely no rift between Sharon Cuneta and Kris Aquino. Though the moment a fan suggested that there was, Cuneta was left with no choice but to deny such rumors.

The gossiping among her followers began when she congratulated “I Love You, Hater” stars Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto, whom she worked with in the movie, “Unexpectedly Yours.”

Some of the her fans noticed that she failed to mention Aquino, the other lead star of “I Love You, Hater.” This is untrue because she did mention her near the end of her message.

Still, that did not stop her critics from asserting that she may have had a problem with Aquino. To clarify, Cuneta wrote in reply: “We have no problem so let’s not make one.”

She explained that she was merely expressing the pride she felt for both Garcia and Barretto, especially the latter after the young actress opened up about being scrutinized.

“I am merely giving my Julia and Joshua love and support which they deserve,” she said.

Pep caught the exchangeΒ with fans, with Cuneta pleading to stop spreading rumors that may cause a rift between her and Aquino.

‘DESERVING OF SUPPORT’

Cuneta congratulated Garcia and Barretto for the success of “I Love You, Hater,” which madeΒ P40 millionΒ after its first weekend and has received mostly positive reviews.

She took it as a chance to remind their fans to be “gentle and kind” to the two young stars, whom she considers now as her own children after “adopting” them.

“No mommy shall allow her own kids to be hurt without standing up for them,” she dared. “You WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH ME FIRST. LET’S BE RESPECTFUL of one another …Let’s all keep the peace and just be happy and supportive of one another.”

This was prompted by an open letter Barretto penned this week, sharing how it felt like to be judged and scrutinized since she began her career years back.

She said that she was not “allowed to make mistakes” and grow from them. But despite the hurtful criticism, she persisted in her career because it’s her “passion” and that she wanted to spread positive through her work.

“I Love You, Hater” is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
