The Kris Aquino-Mel Sarmiento feud is getting more heated than ever as a shocking revelation has just been made. Instead of siding with Kris, her family is supporting Mel Sarmiento and even blaming her brother for what happened!

This information has surprised the public, as everyone thought that Kris’s family would stand by her during this sensitive time. However, a source said that Kris Aquino’s brother may have played an important role in the rift between her and Mel Sarmiento. Kris Aquino, 50, is still full of joy because her late brother, former President Benigno Aquino III, or known as Noynoy, served as a “matchmaker in heaven.”

Kris’ fiancé, Mel Sarmiento, 59, was Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) secretary from September 2015 to June 2016, during Noynoy’s term as President.

But even though Kris and Mel had met several times during that time, it was only after Noynoy’s death that the newly engaged couple had a chance to get to know each other.

This Thursday, October 28, Kris and Mel appeared in a Q&A where Kris’ son Bimby asked some details about their love story.

Kris admitted here that Mel officially became her boyfriend on July 24, 2021.

“It’s really weird to admit this. Our monthsary is actually a month after Tito Noy died.

“That’s why I said there’s a matchmaker in heaven.

“Because of pandemic and everything, because we’re quarantined nonstop, we got to know each other so well so fast.”

Bimby asked what moves Mel made to get Kris to answer.

Mel was about to answer when Kris suddenly cut in and warned Mel, “Don’t shock my son.”

Bimby laughed, “Why did you say that?”

Kris replied, “Because out of the blue he just kissed me.”

Bimby was curious, “Like, deep kiss?”

Kris commented, “I’m like, ‘The courage.'”

Bimby pressed Mel to describe whether the kiss was like the movie The Notebook or Fifty Shades of Grey.

Kris evasively replied, “No, Bimb, please…”

But Kris admitted that she was surprised by Mel’s romantic moves.

Kris said, “And then I asked him, ‘For someone so shy, how did you do that?

Bimby’s frank comment, “He let it out, man!”

Mel smiled in agreement, “I can’t stop it, eh. She didn’t stop me, so…”

Kris interrupted, “Okay, that’s it.”

Bimby said, “I won’t dive any deeper so I won’t traumatize myself.”

HOW KRIS AQUINO AND MEL SARMIenTO FIRST MET
There is perfect timing in the love story of Kris Aquino and Mel Sarmiento.

Their paths have crossed several times before, but Mel couldn’t make it because her “fear” of former President Noyoy prevailed and she was “starstruck” with Kris.

“It’s in Bahay Pangarap, the first time the former president introduced me to her,” Mel said, referring to the residential building in Malacañang now known as Bahay Pagbabago.

Kris continued, “We would ride in the same helicopter. I would tell him stories. [In my head], ‘How come he doesn’t pay attention to me?’

“It was so weird. Most people when I tell them stories, they’re happy to talk to me. He really would ignore me.”

Mel only asked him a short question.

“So, I had to ask the staff, ‘Are you really shy?’ I said, ‘I don’t think he’s gay. If he’s gay, he wouldn’t be happy with me.”

Mel admitted that she was just really awkward back then.

“Of course, admittedly, I had a crush on him. You watch him on TV, and suddenly he’s right in front of you.

“Then her brother was my boss. When she [Kris] was next to me, I couldn’t speak.

“Whenever we were in a place, she would start talking to me, Sir [Noy] was next to me, maybe she would get angry.”

Kris was still wondering why Mel didn’t think of doing something.

Kris snapped, “I said, ‘We were out of town for a while. Why didn’t you pay attention to me? You could have gotten my number.’ Because at the time, I was single.”

But Mel was deliberately trying to get rid of Kris because she couldn’t get over her shame about her brother.

Mel told Bimby, “Once, we’re about to have lunch, your Tito Noy is seated two chairs away. He sat next to me.

“I thought, ‘How can I eat that?’ Then your tito was there, so I hesitated.

Until their paths crossed again when former President Noynoy passed away on June 24, 2021.

According to Kris, after that, Mel had the opportunity to visit her house for a “presentation” for some project.

Kris said she thought about befriending Mel so she could find out what happened to the “kidnap threat” against her in April 2016.

Kris did not elaborate on what she and Mel discussed about it, but it was the beginning of her constant visits to her.

Kris said, “He started coming here more often. It took the third dinner for me to finally get him to talk.”

When Mel felt that she was falling for Kris, she visited Noynoy’s grave.

Mel said, “You’re together, as time goes by you feel different.

“Of course I thought Sir might be angry, he might haunt me. I still felt it after his funeral.

“So, I went to the cemetery. I was talking to him, telling him what’s going on.

“I wanted to control myself, but I really didn’t. I thought he might be angry with me.”

Bimby asked Mel how she realized that Kris was the “right one.”

Mel replied, “Of course, the way I feel, the way I feel, I’m so happy.

“Everyone noticed that. People very close to me would say, ‘I’ve known you for a long time…” My nieces [would say], ‘You smile differently now.’

“It’s really hard to explain, but I tell myself, he is.”

It was easy for Mel to slow down because of Kris.

The former DILG secretary said, “I used to do a lot of things. I was kinda busy doing this and that. Now, because of how I feel about him, I learned to balance my time.

“Back then, I was always working. Now, I realized, ‘It’s okay to work but it’s nice to be happy because you’re in love.'”

It was a big deal for Kris that Bimby voted for Mel.

“It really mattered to me that you like him,” Kris said.

Bimby said, “Yeah, of course! Tito Mel’s cool!”

According to Kris, knowing that Mel’s two children also have the blessing of their relationship added to her happiness.

The TV host-actress said, “We had dinner with his two sons. And I said sorry to them that they’re not seeing their dad as often.

“I was really touched when they said thank you. They said they’ve never seen their dad as happy.

“I felt they must really super love their dad for them to say that.

“When they left, when I was in the bathroom, I was really crying.

“I couldn’t imagine two boys near Kuya’s [Josh Aquino] age saying that, thanking me for making their dad happy.

“I said, ‘Ohhh… this is something. I just felt really, really touched by that.”

A PROMISE OF A LIFETIME TOGETHER
Kris and Mel made their engagement public on Sunday, October 24.

Kris didn’t want to talk about how Mel proposed to her because their scene seemed to be full of drama.

Kris said, “I will spare him the embarrassment of saying why, what happened.”

But Kris hinted that she seemed to have found a counterpart as a “Drama Queen” because she called Mel a “Drama King.”

Finally, Bimby asked Mel and Kris what they wanted to say to each other.

Mel said, “I will take care of you. “I’ll be with you all our lives.”

Kris replied, “Thank you, Babe.”

At this point, Mel kissed Kris tenderly on the lips.

Mel jokingly referred to her kiss with Kris, “That’s how I did it.”

She said that was how she first kissed Kris.

But Kris countered that Mel’s first kiss seemed passionate.

Kris said, “No, you’re cleansing…”

Kris was serious and said that she was very at peace now that Mel was in her life.

“All I want to say is that for the longest time—because Kuya [Josh] has chosen to be independent in Tarlac.

“And you know, it really mattered to me that the man I would end up with would also really love Bimb. Because, no, it’s really for so long just the two of us.

“And the fact that, you showed me talaga na with no hesitation that you’re ready to step in, and the fact that you try your best to make me happy, I really feel how much you love me.

“That’s why, I feel like I’m just stupid if I let you go…

“I love you with all my heart… Whatever’s left of my life, you have me.”

According to Kris, Mel is not used to being in front of the camera and only asked her to do a Q&A for her supporters who wanted to know their love story.

Kris said in her Instagram post, “So, we compromised—she agreed but said after this the next video is our wedding and, of course, I agreed.

“That’s how much he has changed me—I now know it’s not all about me, it’s definitely a give & take, and it really should always be about US.”

Kris showed off a simple, thick gold ring that she called her “commitment ring” that Mel gave her.

The one on the other side of the ring with the big stone was supposedly given to her by her brother.
