Singer Tootsie Guevarra discloses one of the reasons she left the Philippines is because she became a target of “dirty old men” and indecent proposals that were “rampant” during her time.

Ibinunyag ni Tootsie Guevarra, 44, ang dahilan kung bakit iniwan niya ang kanyang showbiz career sa Pilipinas at hinanap ang kapalaran sa Amerika.
Si Tootsie ay nakilalang singer noong late ‘90s hanggang early 2000s at nagpasikat sa mga kantang “Pasulyap-Sulyap,” “Kaba,” “Mahal Ka Sa Akin,” at marami pang iba.
Aminado si Tootsie na hindi siya galing sa mayamang pamilya, pero ipinagmamalaking nakapagtapos sa St. Paul University at maagang naging breadwinner.
Nagawa ni Tootsie na makilala bilang OPM singer, pero naging lapitin daw siya ng DOMs (dirty old men) at indecent proposals.
Sa murang edad, hindi raw siya nahihiyang maging vocal—isang ugaling noon ay tinataasan ng kilay.

Naging easy target daw si Tootsie ng mga tuksong ito sa pag-aakalang kakagat siya dahil isa siyang breadwinner.
Sabi ni Tootsie kay Paco, “You and I know [in the] entertainment industry, there’s always gonna be a lot of temptations, indecent proposals… hindi mo maiaalis yan.
“And I had to make a tough decision if I would go to that lane or stick to my lane with knowing the consequences of my decision.”
Sinegundahan ito ni Paco na sinabing lantaran ang indecent proposals noon sa mga singer tulad ni Tootsie.
Dagdag ng former band drummer, napakabata noon ni Tootsie at ang mga nagbibigay ng indecent proposals ay DOMs na nasa edad 50s, married, at may adult kids.
Ibinabahay raw ang mga kakagat na babae na gagawing “side chicks, bibigyan ng condo, ng SUV…”
Isa nga raw sa mga naging lapitin ng DOMs ay si Tootsie.
Pag-amin ni Tootsie, “So I felt like they saw me as a target. They saw me as an opportunity, thinking, ‘O, eto si Tootsie, she’s gonna say yes.’”
Pero desidido raw si Tootsie na hindi siya pumatol.
“Alongside of that, I felt like I didn’t fit in and I felt like I was being pressured to fit in,” pag-amin ni Tootsie.
