In a podcast interview on “Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel,” Pauleen looked back on how her relationship with Vic started, saying it was “weird and stressful.”

Pauleen said she was on Eat Bulaga for seven years before she had a “decent conversation” with the legendary host because sometimes they would just “eyebrow” each other when they met on the show.

“He’s super mysterious and so quiet. And that’s like what I said he comes off as a suplado so we’re kind of scared of him. Not that I tried to avoid having a conversation with him but you know I said to myself what are we gonna talk about? I’m just gonna be with my friends, with Ate Ruby, Wally,” explained Pauleen.

She added, “We respect him as our superior and I don’t think I need to talk to him. So when we started talking, it’s kinda stressful.”

According to the actress, she and Vic started talking via email where she said she only gave him the requested photo of him from their trip to Singapore with friends.

“We started off as friends. We were out, we were a group. We were really friends. And then after a while I realized ‘Oh, he’s okay.’ I mean he’s very simple. He wasn’t the guy that I expected him to be, who seemed a bit intimidating. He was okay. He’s very easy, easy to ride.

“As a matter of fact, he used to call me ‘Brad, how are you?’ It was just friendly. I guessed we realized that we had a lot of things in common. He’s not an artist, so to speak. And then we got along very well,” he said.
