A new name added to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s shopping list…
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on who Manchester United could sign next summer as Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS continue to try and drag the club back to the top.
Erik ten Hag has guided United to their worst-ever start to a Premier League campaign for the second consecutive season as the club sits 14th in the table.
Despite this, the Dutchman looks set to remain in charge after the international break despite rumours over a potential approach for Thomas Tuchel.
United have spent over £700 million under Ten Hag but the team is far from ready to compete for the league title despite their FA Cup victory in 2024.
However, in true United fashion Ratcliffe is ready to add to their spending as Romano has revealed one of the club’s targets for next season.
“A lot of clubs are keeping a close eye on Eberechi Eze, with many scouting the player including Manchester United,” Romano said via his YouTube channel.
However, Eze isn’t the only man on their shopping list and Romano stressed they are yet to make a decision on their top target.
“Man United want to invest in a winger in 2025, but they have not decided who it is going to be so let’s wait and see but for sure Eze is one of the players they have been scouting,” he continued.
“There are many others so I am not saying he is the only one or that he is the priority target.
One of the main reasons Eze is such a viable option is due to his release clause which looks like surprisingly good value given the current market.

“His release clause will still be there in 2025, it is a release clause of around £60 million,” Romano revealed.
Eze hasn’t had the best start to life in 24/25 with his Palace side sitting in the bottom three after failing to win any of their first seven Premier League games.
The 26-year-old was highly tipped to make a move away from Selhurst Park in the summer after earning an England call-up for Euro 2024, but with the sale of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, Palace made sure they kept hold of the midfielder.
