SHOCK!Lloyd Samartino reveals that he and Nora Aunor weren’t serious about their relationship back then… (ch)

On September 9, actor Lloyd Samartino revealed that he and Superstar Nora Aunor didn’t take their relationship seriously during the ’80s.

In the media conference for Loving Miss Bridgette, he said that they were both enjoying their time together rather than being in a serious relationship.

“Sa akin naman noon, I was just enjoying myself. It wasn’t an intense relationship talaga. And I think siya rin naman, alam naman niya eh nag-eenjoy lang siya noong panahon na ‘yun.”

He also described their relationship as ‘movie romance’ while sharing the reason why they broke up.

“It’s like a movie romance, pag natapos ‘yung movie tapos na rin ‘yung romance. Dati ang pelikula three, four, five months hindi katulad ngayon one month tapos na. So nade-develop talaga kayo for the duration of the movie.

“Kaya lang pag natapos na ‘yung pelikula, iba na ‘yung mga ginagawa mong pelikula. Syempre dahil pareho kayong busy, hindi na kayo masyadong nagkikita. And then, natatapos din ang relationship.”

Samartino, also shared how dating older women helped him be more sensitive with his current partners.

“I’m glad I dated all these older women because in my relationships up to now, although I’m dating younger women, ang dami ko talagang natutunan. I’m more sensitive to a woman’s feelings hindi katulad noong araw, kung ano lang ang gusto ko ‘yun ang masusunod.”

He then encouraged younger men to try and date older women, noting that it would help them mature.

“I encouraged young men to date older women if they have the chance. Kasi even if it is short lived, pagkatapos mo doon sa relationship nagbabago ‘yung pag-iisip mo eh. And then when you have your relationship again with someone your age, mas iba na ‘yung treatment mo. Kasi ang lalaki mas late kami mag-mature.”

Samartino and Aunor worked on classic films such as Annie Batungbakal (1979) and Bongga Ka Day (1980).

As for Loving Miss Bridgette, the mini-series is part of GMA Network’s new anthology drama, Stories from the Heart. The teleserye stars Beauty Gonzalez and Kelvin Miranda.

Loving Miss Bridgette airs on September 13 on GMA Network. The teleserye also includes a stellar cast starting with Bing Loyzaga, Adrian Alandy, Noel Colet, Polo Ravales, Nikki Co, Pamela Prinster, and Shanicka Arganda.
