Neymar set to 'terminate Al Hilal contract' and complete blockbuster move which nobody saw coming

Neymar is set to end his nightmare spell with Al Hilal, with a next move already lined up.

Neymar is set to terminate his contract with Al Hilal and compete a surprise transfer, reports claim.

Although he’s earned a mouthwatering amount of money, the former Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona superstar has endured a nightmare time in Saudi Arabia after signing for Al Hilal in a £86.3 million deal back in 2023.

The 32-year-old has made just seven appearances for the club after spending a year on the sidelines following an ACL injury. When he returned recently, Neymar suffered a hamstring tear against Esteghlal FC and is expected to be on the treatment table for at least four weeks.

But Brazilian journalist Cesar Luis Merlo claims that Neymar is already preparing to leave the club, with a return to boyhood club Santos on the cards.

Neymar progressed through the ranks with the Sao Paulo club and went on to score 107 goals in 177 appearances before signing for Barcelona in 2013 and continuing his ascension into a world star.

It’s said that Neymar and Santos have already come to an agreement and the termination of his deal with Al Hilal is being worked out.

Neymar had been linked with a reunion with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba at Inter Miami, with his former PSG and Barcelona teammate reportedly calling him in a bid to convince him to move to the United States.

Santos suffered relegation for their first in their history in 2023 but secured automatic promotion back to the Brazilian Serie A at the first time of asking.

They will secure the title win on Sunday with a win against CRB, with Neymar even invited to attend by president Marcelo Teixeira.

“[We are] clear and objective, his father and his staff know it,” Teixeira told reporters on the situation, as per ESPN.

“They know me, they know Santos. We have to wait because he has an active contract.”

During his time out injured, Neymar regularly posted pictures of him watching Santos play and still has love for the club.
