In a recent episode of Karylleβs podcast, she directly addressed the pregnancy rumors. She slammed those posts about the pregnancy rumors, based on the article in PEP.
She said that many people have approached her and congratulated her because they believed the fake news.
βA lot of you have been congratulating me for being pregnant because of the fake news that was circulating. So Iβm here to tell you that [no, Iβm not],βΒ the singer-actress stressed.
She also shared that it has been the third time that the pregnancy rumors circulated. It saddened her that there were a lot of people who believed the fake news.
βI think itβs not about education level; a lot of people have been fooled by this news. So Iβm here to tell you once again that the news is fake. I hate fake news,βΒ she said.
K also shared that there was a time when a woman congratulated her for allegedly being pregnant and when she told her that it was not true, the woman did not believe her.
During her podcast, she featured Atty. Kim Henares as her guest. K asked the lawyer what she could do about fake news and even though the pregnancy rumors were not true, she was not affected negatively because it was not something like bad publicity.
The lawyer said that you canβt file a case against the spreader of this kind of fake news.
βActually, if you look at our law, you have to prove damages to yourself. But if you say itβs not damaging, thatβs a problem. Thereβs fake news that donβt really damage anyone but theyβre just not factual,β the lawyer said.
With this, Karylle said that it would damage her mental health and people wouldnβt believe her even though she was explaining. Another point that she raised was that she lost control of her own voice and her own narrative as people refused to believe her clarification.
