OG “Maybe This Time” challenge trendsetter graces It’s Showtime.

For the Saturday episode of It’s Showtime, original “Maybe This Time” challenge dancer Ralp Xyrel Villaruz was invited.

Ralp Xyrel Villaruz was the student in the viral and sensational “Maybe This Time” dance challenge. This dance challenge became popular on social media, specifically on TikTok and Instagram done by famous people both on showbiz and various online platforms.

One of the main reasons why Ralp’s video became viral is because of the entertaining and unique steps he created that matched the songs beat and melody. He is from Zamboanga and recently, he graced the noontime show of ABS-CBN, It’s Showtime.

It was the version of Sarah Geronimo and celebrities Andrea Brillantes, Stell Ajero of SB19, Cong TV and Viy Cortez of Team Payaman, and Sheena Catacutan of BINI are some of those who did this already.

The hosts of the noontime shows such as Vice Ganda, Jhong Hilario, Vhong Navarro, and others grew fondness to the dance challenge that started from him. Ralp appeared in Showtime and danced the song not just with the hosts but also with several social media influencers and internet stars.

According to him, he did not expect for his video to grow this big that it even reached the point for him to be invited in Showtime, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. In his story, he created this video out of boredom while waiting for his volleyball training. This was recorded in his friend’s phone, got uploaded, and the rest was history.

Ralp expressed that his parents are proud of him. When asked what he feels, he said, “Masaya po dahil na-experience ko po ito sa buhay ko. Once in a lifetime lang po ‘to.”

Apart from the hosts, those who did the challenge with him were ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ hurados, social media influencers and the madlang people.
