Billy Crawford has been sober for about seven years now according to his wife, Coleen Garcia. The 31-year-old actress once again clarified her husband’s noticeable weight loss through the years and emphasized that the reason was not in any way related to drugs.

Coleen disclosed that Billy was once an alcoholic. Thankfully, the TV personality got over his alcohol addiction and has been living a healthier lifestyle since he decided to quit. “Si Billy naman, the reason why he really lost weight is because he’s living a much healthier lifestyle. Eh, mas gugustuhin ko naman ‘yun. […] Before, ‘nung times na medyo malusog siya, medyo malaki siya, it was because he was an alcoholic,” Coleen told PEP.ph.

Coleen recalled how hard Billy worked to put an end to his vice and she’s extremely happy for her hubby. “I’m really proud of him he was able to give it up. Talagang pinasa-Diyos niya ‘yun and he promised that he’s never gonna drink again. He’s been sober for about six or seven years—very long time ago. And I’m very proud of him,” Coleen expressed.

She added that his husband’s build has always been the petite kind. PEP.ph’sort mentioned that some online users and fans were alarmed about Billy’s current physical appearance and thought it did not suit him at all. Coleen’s reaction to it goes, “If you look at ‘yung mga throwback pictures niya, ‘yun talaga yung built niya noon pa. Ang difference lang siyempre tumatanda na tayo, we cannot get the same appearance.”

With that, Coleen directly shut down all the rumors that Billy has been using illegal drugs, saying their family and close friends could attest to it. “Hindi, hindi talaga. Billy has never tried any [illegal] drugs in his whole life,” she strongly stated.

Coleen Garcia On Her Husband’s ‘Sickly’ Appearance

It was not the first time that Coleen addressed rumors and rude comments about her husband’s current physical appearance. In May 2024, she uploaded an Instagram Story of her with a bare face. It went with quite a lengthy caption basically saying, “I look sick. I look pale. I look depressed. My hair’s a frizzy mess, especially in this insane heat. No, it’s not ’cause of bisyo. It’s not ’cause of unbearable stress or marital problems or depression. It’s because I’m human. We all are. I break out, I get tired, I’m getting older every day.”

In a separate report by ABS-CBN, Coleen admitted that she felt the urge to defend her husband after he was scrutinized for having dark under eyes, major hair loss, and more. All in all, the comments supposedly wanted to point out how Billy might be sick or is having a hard time. “There’s this viral photo kasi of Billy going around kaya I felt the need to address it without directly addressing it…Actually, I don’t know if you’ve ever seen him before without makeup. But long before we even started dating, he’s always had dark undereye circles and major hair loss na,” she said.

At the time, Billy was also busy flying in and out of the country, as he participated in France’s Dance with the Stars. Now, the couple is busy with their respective projects as Billy is currently a coach on GMA’s The Voice Kids. Coleen and Billy recently also threw a party for their son Amari‘s fourth birthday.
