Sofronio Vasquez had this overwhelming experience
The Voice USA Season 26 winner Sofronio Vasquez met American Idol Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson.
After winning the American singing competition, Sofronio had interviews left and right. Filipinos have been expressing love and support for him on social media after he was hailed as the first Asian, not just the first Filipino to win in the said competition.
One of the most recent interviews he had was on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Kelly was one of the previous coaches in the singing competition.

In her show released on YouTube on December 17, Kelly Clarkson talked about having the chance to return to The Voice when she sang a Christmas song.
Then, she called the Season 26 winner Sofronio Vasquez who won under the mentorship of Canadian singer Michael Buble, a first-time coach in the show. When the Pinoy singer was shown via a video interview, he was obviously mesmerized by being on Kelly’s show.
When Kelly asked him how he was feeling, Sofronio put a hand on his mouth and said, “Oh my gosh, is this real?!” The American singer laughed and congratulated him.

He said that he couldn’t believe that it was happening but he thanked Kelly for congratulating him. Then, the singer-host asked her guest what it felt like not just winning but being the first Filipino to win the competition.
“I don’t know what to say but yeah, I’m the first Filipino to win The Voice,” he said. It can be heard that the crowd was cheering for him. Then, Sofronio Vasquez shared what it was like having Michael Buble as his coach.
The Filipino singer said that his coach is cool and funny. Michael would always play hockey with them. “He’s very genuine and personal with everything,” Sofronio said.
Previously, Sofronio Vasquez shared that Michael Buble revealed that he dated a “dyosa” in the Philippines years ago and netizens guessed that it was actress Kristine Hermosa.
