Charges filed versus Vhong Navarro were dismissed by the supreme court.

VHONG NAVARRO CASE – The Supreme Court’s Third Division ordered the dismissal of charges filed against actor-host Vhong Navarro.

Taguig Metropolitan Court has previously issued an arrest warrant for Vhong Navarro regarding the cases filed by Deniece Cornejo. He voluntarily surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and posted bail for the acts of lasciviousness case.

However, he was still detained because of the separate arrest warrant for the r4pe charges. The 45-year-old celebrity has denied the accusations against him.

The charge is non-bailable but he was able to post bail for Php 1 million after it has been found that there were inconsistencies in the testimonies of the complainant.

Vhong Navarro Case

And just recently, the Supreme Court’s Third Division released an order to dismiss the r4pe and acts of lasciviousness charges filed against actor-host Vhong Navarro. This is due to a lack of probable cause.

The 43-page ruling was made public on Monday, March 13.

“Accordingly, the Court DISMISSES the following Informations against Ferdinand ‘Vhong’ H. Navarro for lack of probable cause,” the ruling read.

“The Decision dated July 21, 2022 and the Resolution dated September 20, 2022 of the Court of Appeals in CA-G.R. SP No. 166222 are reversed and set aside,” it added.

The order was released after finding out that the DOJ did not commit grave abuse of discretion in junking raps filed by Cornejo. All 5 SC magistrates favored the dismissal and the decision was penned by Assoc Justice Henri Jean Paul Inting and concurred in by Justices Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, Samuel Gaerlan, Japar Dimaampao, and Maria Filomena Singh.

It also enumerated the inconsistencies in Cornejo’s 3 affidavits against Navarro.
