Several longstanding celebrity feuds have been buried and forgotten, with the most recent being Heart Evangelista and Marian Rivera. ICYDK: The two style mavens set the internet ablaze in October 2023 when it was reported that they followed each other back on Instagram after nearly a *decade* of their alleged feud.
Since then, it’s been nothing but love between the two actresses. After they got netizens gushing over their wholesome Instagram exchanges these past few months, the internet is once again blessed with another super cute Heart-Marian interaction!
Heart Evangelista Congratulates Marian Rivera For Her Comeback on GMA Primetime
GMA recently posted a short clip of Heart welcoming Marian back to primetime for her latest teleserye, My Guardian Alien.
In the video, Heart had nothing but praise to give her friend. “It gives me so much pleasure to congratulate you, Madam Marian, because finally after many many years, you are back where you belong, on GMA Prime,” she gushed.
She added: “From my heart to yours, congratulations and welcome back, Queen of Primetime.”
Marian returned the love in the comments section and wrote, “Awwww @iamhearte [kissy face emoji].”
Netizens couldn’t help but enthuse about this interaction in the comments, noting that they loved how these two queens supported each other.
A Short Explainer on Heart Evangelista and Marian Rivera’s Decade-Long Alleged Feud
For those not in the know about the two stars’ rumored feud in the past, here’s what you need to know about it:
The last time Heart and Marian actually worked together was in 2011 for the remake of Temptation Island. During that time, Marian claimed that Heart’s mom, Cecile Ongpauco, yelled at her to “stay away from (her) daughter” when they met at an airport.
In a press conference, Heart denied Marian’s claims and said that there were no interactions between Marian and her mom. She also explained that their feud began during the filming of Temptation Island. According to her, Marian barged into her room and screamed, “Papatayin ka ng mga fans ko.”
Netizens at the time theorized that this was all caused by Heart’s Twitter account allegedly getting hacked in 2011, in which her account tweeted “marianita bobo” in reference to Marian.
It was in October 2023 when whispers of a reconciliation between Heart and Marian caused some buzz on the internet after they both followed each other on Instagram. Later, the two stars were seen leaving sweet and wholesome comments for each other on the ‘gram. Aww.
In November 2023, Heart revealed to reporters in an event that it was Marian who first handed the olive branch to rekindle their friendship.
“I really do give credit to Marian. She really spoke to a lot of our common friends that she’d like to see me, ganyan. Siya [ang nag-reach out], so I really appreciate that,” she divulged.
Heart also revealed in an interview with PEP.ph that she and Marian have “always liked each other. “Marian and I, we’ve always liked each other. And it’s a true testament that queens should always be supporting each other. Because real queens support each other. It’s a testament that it’s really the people around us that makes things bad. To begin with, we’ve always been okay,” she said.
She added: “Honestly, I really appreciate her. She has a very strong character, but I really appreciate her kindness and just her heart.”
