Michele Gumabao ties the knot with Aldo Panlilio

Miss Universe Philippines 2020 second runner-up Michele Gumabao has tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, PBA coach Aldo Palilio.
Michele and Aldo’s church wedding was held at the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart, Makati City, this Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Michele and Aldo’s wedding ceremony began at around 5 p.m.
The newlyweds exchanged sweet kisses.
MICHELE GUMABAO AND ALDO PANLILIO LOVE STORY
Michele and Aldo’s paths crossed because they were set up on a date by a common friend almost eight years ago.
In an interview with ABS-CBN in 2017, Michelle and Aldo shared how their love story began.
Aldo said: “A friend set us up at his restaurant, Sobremesa in Pasig City. I just tagged along and got invited. I already knew of her so I gave it a chance.
As for why Michele gave it a chance? Maybe, ‘cause [the restaurant] was near her game.”
Michele is a professional volleyball player and currently plays for the Creamline Cool Smashers team in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).
Michele added: “What he said! I told him to go there!
“After that, we just kept talking. We talked every day—as in, every day until today!”
They said they hit it off quickly because of their many similarities and interests, such as food, sports, and going to the gym.
“We eat wherever,” Aldo revealed.
Michele didn’t deny it: “He’d watch my games then we’d go out after. Anything that there’s meat, Aldo’s there! From shabu-shabu to buffet!
“And for us, fitness is our life and career now. Before Aldo put up his gym, he was a fitness enthusiast already.
“And me of course volleyball so sports talaga. And we bond over that a lot, we balance out our dates with dinner and working out.
“He does train me, although not regularly. But whenever I’m free, that’s really where I am.
“He’s super strict ! I’m not his girlfriend at the gym! He’s really on coach mode!
“He trains Mel [Gohing] also, so Mel and I bond at night with Aldo.
“Because we always talk about our workouts, and how strict and difficult a coach he is at the gym!”
The two got engaged on August 9, 2024.
