The Philippine entertainment industry is once again in turmoil as Anette Gozon, Vice President of GMA Network, is said to have taken a strong stance against Jalosjos amid the heated controversy surrounding the ouster of the legendary trio Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon (TVJ).
The incident is considered one of the most intense confrontations in the Philippine television industry, as big names in the entertainment industry are caught up in the whirlpool of power and interests. Rumors suggest that Gozon does not approve of the way Jalosjos handled the situation and may be preparing legal action or strategic moves to protect the interests of GMA Network and its flagship programs.
Insider sources revealed that Gozon was very unhappy with the way TVJ left Eat Bulaga and the subsequent developments. Meanwhile, Jalosjos is said to have not given in, further escalating tensions between the two sides.
As the situation continues to escalate, fans of TVJ and Eat Bulaga are closely watching for their next moves. What will GMA do next? And will this power struggle change the face of the Philippine television industry? Let’s wait and see!
Annette Gozon-Valdes on TVJ, other Dabarkads leaving TAPE, Inc.: It’s beyond our control
GMA Network, Inc. isn’t taking any side after Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, and the Eat Bulaga Dabarkads left TAPE, Inc.
According to Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras”, GMA Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes said the network had no control over the situation.
The Kapuso network is saddened by the situation.
Asked why GMA let go of the noontime show, Gozon-Valdes said, “It was beyond our control.”
“If we have control, we have a say in what happens, of course we won’t let them go. That’s their term. We’ll stop them. We’ll do everything we can to make them stay with us, but in reality, GMA will hand it over to us because it was an internal issue between TVJ and TAPE, Inc.,” Gozon-Valdes said.

“So, we really don’t know about those issues. We only learned about the issues when they surfaced on social media, in newspapers or in interviews so it wasn’t right for us to intervene,” she added.
On whether GMA was siding with the Jalosjos family, Gozon-Valdes said, “From the start, GMA was not on the side of the Jalosjos family. Like I said, it was their internal issues, it was a corporate issue.
Gozon-Valdes also addressed the issue of GMA’s contract with TAPE, Inc.
“Maybe people will understand the contract because GMA is with TAPE. We have no contract with TVJ as talents of or as partners of TAPE. This contract is a blocktime agreement,” Gozon-Valdes said.
“What that means is that they are renting a time slot from us on GMA. They are paying us rent and they are the contents of the noontime slot from Monday to Saturday. What is the contents of that, we have nothing to do with it,” she added.
“In fact, their contract states that they can change hosts, they can reformat and this contract was negotiated by Mr. [Antonio] Tuviera. He was the one who negotiated it at that time,” Gozon-Valdes said.
“We have to honor the contract as long as there is no breach of its provisions. Because you know the contract is different, it has legal consequences,” she added.
Gozon-Valdes said there will be no change in GMA’s relationship with TAPE, Inc.
Its ties with TVJ and Eat Bulaga’s other former hosts will also not change, she added.
GMA’s doors are open to the hosts who left Eat Bulaga.
“I fervently believe that it won’t change because GMA is different and TAPE is different. GMA is out of their issues with TAPE,” Gozon-Valdes said.
GMA is waiting for when the noontime show will return on TV.
It is in TAPE’s contract that it should produce a show for the timeslot.
Sparkle—the talent management arm of GMA—is ready to supply talents for the show.
“If there is no conflict and the talents agree, why not, right? “It’s really a separate business if we can give our talents a job, why not and we’ve been doing this even before falling out years and years back,” Gozon-Valdes said.
“Like Alden, he’s from Sparkle. Like Bianca and Ruru, we really provide talents,” she added.
