“Not so okay” Kris Aquino makes first public appearance
It coincides with EDSA People Power Anniversary.
For the first time in more than two years, the Queen of All Media, Kris Aquino, was once again seen by the public.
On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, she attended People Asia’s People of the Year 2025 to support her close friend who is like a brother to her—fashion designer Michael Leyva, one of the awardees.
Kris was accompanied by her youngest son, Bimby
Kris’s attendance at the event was her first public appearance since 2022, when she flew to the U.S. to undergo treatment and medical tests for her autoimmune diseases.
KRIS: “PERFECT TO COME OUT!”
Kris was briefly interviewed by the entertainment press.
She was asked about her current condition as well as her public appearance on the very day the country celebrates the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
It can be recalled that on February 25, 1986, the historic People Power took place where the country regained democracy and ended the regime of dictator and former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
When Marcos Sr. was ousted, Kris’ mother, Cory Aquino, took office as President.
Back to Kris’ interview, she said she didn’t think the date would be the anniversary of the People Power Revolution.
The 54-year-old host said:
“I actually thought today is the 24th, tomorrow is the 25th.
“He [Michael] was the one who told me. He said [last night], ‘What are you doing, tomorrow is the [EDSA People Power Revolution]
“So, I said, ‘Perfect!’
“It’s really perfect to come out.”
